Special Thank You for Community Based Fundraisers
Community Based Fundraisers July 2017-June 2018
You did it! This year our community spoke loud and proud in support of individuals and families coping with cancer by raising $109,763. We are truly humbled by your generosity and passion for helping us deliver superior programs and services to our participants. Our services are free of charge to participants, but each year we are challenged with raising two million dollars. You continue to amaze us with your innovative and exciting fundraisers. Whether you held a bake sale at your elementary school or threw a Halloween party at the Science Center, thank you! There were a few local restaurants that opened this year and decided to bring The Gathering Place (TGP) in on their grand opening festivities. Please take a moment to learn about City Works and Graeter’s Ice Cream Shop below…
On Thursday, June 14th City Works hosted several guests for their soft opening at their newest restaurant in the Pinecrest Development and raised $8,700 to support The Gathering Place! Guests purchased tickets which granted them an exclusive first look at the upscale sports bar. They also enjoyed ordering a meal from the full menu, an open bar and laughs all night long. During the event an anonymous donor pledged $5,000 and challenged the guests in the room to match them. By the end of the night, the group raised a total of $18,700!
“Graeter's Ice Cream”
On Thursday, June 7th Graeter’s Ice Cream brought their talent to the new Pinecrest Development and decided to donate $500 of the proceeds from their Grand Opening to The Gathering Place! In addition to this, our volunteers and staff were able to enjoy a free scoop from their wide variety of delicious flavors.
