Special Thank You to Our Community Partners
Community Based Fundraisers July-September
The Gathering Place is excited to be the recipient of multiple Community Based Fundraisers. During the first three months of our fiscal year, over $25,000 was raised by various community members to support The Gathering Place’s efforts to support individuals and families currently coping with cancer. We recapped a few stories below….
CORNHOLE & CLAMBAKE
On September 23rd the Kelly Foundation hosted a cornhole & clambake fundrasier at Force Sports in Rocky River and raised $3,000 to support The Gathering Place. The Kelly Foundation was founded in memory of Kelly Ann Kramer and seeks to reward local individuals and organizations for their efforts to improve the community. The event was well attended and guests enjoyed food, drinks, live music and a cornhole tournament! Our Chief Development Officer, Mireille Kious attended the event with her family and had a great time!
On August 10th the ladies of the Canterbury Country Club Women’s Golf Association hosted a golf outing and raised $7,055 to support The Gathering Place. Since 2014, the group has donated nearly $20,000 to TGP. During the fundraiser, storms forced attendees to reluctantly cut the golf portion of the event short. Guests moved the fundraiser inside and continued to enjoy food, drinks, auction prizes and a presentation from TGP Community Liaison, Simone Swanson. Each year this group continues to engage and excite their members to attend and invest in the outing. We recognize the hard work that goes into planning this awesome night of fun and feel humbled to be the recipient of such generosity.
On Labor Day, shortly after The Gathering Place opened its doors to the new Westlake home, Sandy Borrelli (TGP Westlake named after Sandy) Colleen Kane and Kim Payne hosted a pop up yoga fundraiser and raised $1,539! The event was held on a warm sunny afternoon on the outdoor lawn. This was a special day for Sandy, it marked 10 years since her cancer diagnosis. She wanted to celebrate the day in a meaningful way. There were 70 guests in attendance. Many of those guests had never visited TGP so decided to take a tour of the space and learn more. The event was a fun and new way to connect with the community. We are grateful to Sandy for continuing her philanthropy and support of The Gathering Place.
The following businesses, organizations, and individuals also planned and hosted community based fundraiser to support of The Gathering Place. We appreciate your time, effort and passion. Please click the company name to learn more about what they do!
