Artist Spotlight: Mary Fisher Bornstein and Margie Strimbu

The Gathering Place Beachwood and Westlake locations remain closed for onsite programming. Please visit our home page to learn about our virtual programming available to individuals and families currently coping with cancer. We are fortunate to display the work of Cleveland's most talented artists in our east and west side galleries. Since you won't be able to browse our wonderful galleries, we decided to highlight our current exhibits below. Enjoy!

Mary Fisher Bornstein, Program Staff at The Gathering Place is displaying her home gallery at our Beachwood Bornstein Art Gallery through the end of the year. Her private collection includes various art mediums from all over the world. Mary's collection features several pieces with hearts and peace signs. Our staff have enjoyed the positive and uplifting energy her art brings to our Beachwood home.

The pieces from Mary's gallery are not for sale, however if you have questions or would like to learn more about her collection, please contact Mary at bornstein@touchedbycancer.org.

Margie Strimbu, is a retired Fairview High School English teacher displaying her work in our Westlake Moses Art Gallery through the end of the year. Margie's love for painting started as a hobby and quickly evolved as she has studied under some of the most accomplished artists in the Cleveland area and in the Bahamas. Margie's large scale oils, which capture the varying moods and colors of the ocean surrounding Treasure Cay, are on display in the Strimbus' villa, which unfortunately suffered great damage due to the ravages of Hurricane Dorian.

Margie's paintings have been on display at various area galleries, including Bay Arts and the Malvina Freedson gallery, and the semi-annual art exhibit in Abaco. If you are interested in purchasing a piece from her exhibit, please contact The Gathering Place at 216.595.9546.
