Caregivers are a vital part of someone's cancer journey. At The Gathering Place, we know caregivers can take on multiple roles, providing support to their loved one or friend coping with cancer.
Caregivers show up with love, but the weight of caregiving is real. November is National Family Caregivers Month, and the data is clear - caring for someone with serious illness impacts a person's own health. National studies show that 40–70% of caregivers experience clinically significant anxiety or depression, and caregivers are at increased risk for sleep disturbance, immune dysfunction and cardiovascular disease.
Anyone who loves someone with cancer deserves support, education and a community of their own.
At The Gathering Place, we offer these services year-round and at no cost.
In honor of National Family Caregivers Month, we will focus on the importance of self-care for caregivers of loved ones with cancer. Learn simple strategies to prevent burnout, set boundaries, and stay well. Prioritizing your own well-being empowers you to better support your loved one throughout their journey.
