Cancer Specific Support Groups

Group education and support for men diagnosed with prostate cancer. Family members welcome to attend. Meets the second Thursday of every month, 6:30-8:00pm. Facilitators: Mary Fisher Bornstein, LISW-S and Brittani Davis, MA, LPCC-S, LICDC

Exercise

The World Cancer Research Fund has identified that excess body weight can increase the risk of 13 cancers. After cancer treatment, reaching and maintaining a healthy weight can help to improve overall health, reduce the risk of other cancers, and may improve survival for some cancer types. QiGong-Tai Chi integrates physical exercises, breathing techniques and mindfulness into one practice.

QiGong-Tai Chi is a holistic health practice integrating a sequence of gentle movements, breathing techniques, acupressure self-massage, and mindfulness. The classes are designed to reduce stress and increase vitality, improve flexibility, balance and circulation, and strengthen muscles. QiGong-Tai Chi can be done sitting or standing and is easily modified and adapted for all abilities and fitness levels. Instructor: Jeannie Koran
